The cows have access to crops like maize, sorghum, alfa alfa, sweet corn etc along with ample water throughout the day which ensures that they are well-fed and well-nourished. Moreover, free grazing under open skies ensures our cows get plenty of sunshine and exercise, which keeps them fit and strong. The cows grow naturally as no artificial growth hormones are injected. We also conduct monthly testing by vets to check for any diseases and give only ayurvedic medicines instead of antibiotics, if required.
Farms That Help Raise Happy & Fit Cattle
Our farm is located on 400 acres of beautiful and evergreen land in Srirangapatna Taluk, Mandya District, Karnataka. This farm is one of the few farms in India which is certified organic as per Indian and Canadian organic standards for fodder, livestock management, and the process. Various types of herbs and medicinal plants like aloe vera, ashwagandha, shatavari, pudina, ginger, etc are grown in small pastures on our farms. By grazing on these lands, our cattle consume these plants in moderation which improves their health, growth, and productivity.
In addition to this, we do not make use of any pesticides or chemicals, which ensures that the fodder and silage for our cows are high in energy content and rich in proteins and minerals. Moreover, these vast pastures of green land offer a stress-free environment for our cows which ensures that the ghee made from their milk has a divine aroma, flavour and granular texture.
Method of Preparation
The Organic A2 ghee is obtained from the high-quality Deshi Hallikar Cows using the traditional Ayurvedic Bilona method. During this process, the milk is first converted into curd by a microbe culture. The curd is then churned slowly to obtain butter via the bilona process. This butter is then slowly cooked in small batches and is converted into ghee. No amount of cream is used while making this ghee, which helps to give it a distinct taste.
