“Eugenics” can be defined as a religion as well as a biological and social science movement which promotes and facilitates the use of practices designed at improving the genetic composition of a society. The basic themes of this movement include the notions that there is an elite group who should bear the responsibility of government leadership and the protection of society. Additionally, this group believes it has an obligation to ensure the survival of the “fittest” members of society which includes persons who are wealthy, intelligent, law abiding, physically strong, healthy, and persons who possess other desirable characteristics that would contribute to a progressive and thriving society. Furthermore, this elite group believes that it must protect the demise of society (and the world for that matter) by identifying, controlling, and ultimately eliminating groups with undesirable characteristics which would necessarily include the poor, less intelligent, unhealthy, cowardly, criminal and so on. This work aims to explore how COVID-19 is the movement Eugenicists have been so diligently striving for through research: genetic advantage of the “elite” over all others.
